When Viktor Blom had to beg for money
 Feb 07 2011
Just two years ago, Viktor 'Isildur' Bloms world looked very different from today with a status as an international poker player star and a sponsorship contract with the worlds largest poker site.

The story of how Viktor Blom in early 2009 made just two thousand dollars to $2.000.000 has now gone worldwide.

But already months earlier moved the then 18-year old Swede in the upper altitudes of online cash games, where he called himself 'Blom90'.

The trip ended suddenly on a December night, when he lost his entire bankroll, reveals Viktor Blom in a new interview with Poker Magazine

Since then the Swedish Team PokerStars Pro both lost and won very large sums of money, but back then it was a hard slap in the face, says Viktor Blom who then went to high school.

So, Waking up to the sound of an alarm clock on a cold December morning when you have been sitting up all night and played and played and emptied the account, only to go to school where i was behind in almost everything, was pure hell, says Viktor Blom.

And just like if this wasnt enough, needing money to play poker. Also Bloms normal economy suffered severe from the heavy losses, as Viktor Blom had to call home to his parents and beg them for money for rent and food.

I rang home and it was not fun at all. My dad freaked out, but my mom was more calm. While talking to my mom i could here my dad screaming in the background.  At that point, i knew i didnt want this anymore. It was me who had lost that money and it is most definately sick to lose as much money as i did.

Viktor Blom know lives in London, and the best guess would be that he pays his rent himself.
